See How Q-PAC Transformed the Fan Experience at AHR 2026

Written by Valerie Carstens | March 12, 2026

Article Summary

Q-PAC, a commercial HVAC technology company specializing in multi-motor plenum fan systems, partnered with Skyline Exhibits to create an immersive AHR 2026 booth that guided attendees through the full customer journey — from product selection to live operation. Through strong preparation, thoughtful design, and seamless execution, the exhibit delivered a standout experience focused on hands-on interaction, brand alignment, and long-term usability.

Three Key Takeaways:

  • Customer Journey Focus: The booth was intentionally designed to mirror Q-PAC’s real-world process, featuring fan configurator stations, installation visuals, and live operating units for a fully immersive experience.

  • Seamless Partnership & Execution: Skyline’s deep product research, accurate preview build, and stress-free installation created confidence and eliminated show-day anxiety.

  • Built for Interaction & Longevity: The space prioritized meaningful conversations and comfort, while modular elements were designed for reuse at Q-PAC’s facility and future shows like AHR 2027.

Q-PAC is a commercial HVAC technology company specializing in multi-motor plenum fans and fan systems for air handlers. Their plug-and-play systems are built around a philosophy of simplicity — engineered for easy installation, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability in both new construction and retrofit applications.

When Q-PAC set out to build their booth for AHR 2026, they had a clear vision: don't just display a product; walk attendees through the entire customer experience, from selection to installation to the finished, running fan. The result was one of the standout exhibits on the show floor, and the story behind it is a testament to what happens when great preparation meets a great partnership.

Starting With the Right Foundation

Q-PAC's Design Manager, Mark James, knew that a successful exhibit starts long before the doors open. The goal was simple: clearly communicate requirements while giving their exhibit partner, Skyline Exhibits, full creative flexibility while keeping everything anchored to the Q-PAC brand.

What came next surprised even the Q-PAC team.

"The work that they put into researching the company and making sure they understood the product just blew me away," said Mark. "It got to the point where they were actually suggesting elements for the booth that we were planning but hadn't even mentioned to them — and they were just spot on with it."

Designing Around the Customer Journey

The booth was intentionally built to mirror the real experience a customer has with Q-PAC — from initial discovery all the way through to seeing the product operate in the field. Fan configurator stations anchored the entry experience. Visitors could enter their airflow requirements, pressure specifications, and dimensions to receive an instant fan recommendation — putting Q-PAC's engineering expertise directly in attendees' hands.

From there, a large LED display guided visitors through the installation process, offering a real-world view of what implementation entails.

Finally, the finished fans were on live display — operating, touchable, and tangible. Attendees could see exactly what they'd be getting, not just a rendering or a spec sheet.

The booth also prioritized comfort and space. Rather than cramming as much as possible into the footprint, Q-PAC built in room for meaningful conversations, like a lounge area where engineers and the customer success team could connect with prospects without anyone feeling rushed or squeezed.

"Our big goal was customer interactions," Mark explained. "Making sure they've got the space to work with our engineers, our customer success team, and get a feel for the product. Hands-on, but also something that's a little more relaxing, not cramped."

A Preview Process That Eliminated the Anxiety

Working with a new exhibit partner for the first time always carries some uncertainty. The preview visit to Skyline's facility quickly changed that. Even the small details delivered confidence. Skyline's installation team – who had never worked on industrial fans before – assembled the fan units perfectly. Colors were accurate, scale was right, and the overall quality of the build matched exactly what Q-PAC had envisioned.

"We were immediately at ease," said Mark. "We didn't have to stress coming into AHR two months later."

Installation That Ran Itself

When show day arrived, the installation went just as smoothly. Skyline's crew was already on-site and ahead of schedule when Q-PAC arrived, handling every detail without needing direction or corrections from the client team.

"We could just sit back, relax, be on site to answer any questions, but we weren't really doing any lifting, any directions, or really any corrections," Mark noted. "That was the big thing for us."

The Booth's Standout Elements

Midway through the show, attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive. For Mark, the fan displays themselves were the highlight — polished, sturdy, and minimal in a way that lets the product speak for itself.

The booth was also built with longevity in mind. The hanging signage, the fan display units (nearly everything) travels back to Q-PAC's factory after the show and lives there year-round, returning to the floor at AHR 2027.

Already Looking Ahead

When the show was still underway, Q-PAC was already sketching out ideas for next year. The partnership with Skyline isn't a one-time engagement — it's the beginning of a long-term collaboration built on trust, shared preparation, and a deep understanding of what Q-PAC is trying to accomplish.
